NMFWRI Collaboration Specialist moderates Advanced Tech session

In June, Collaboration Specialist Alejandro Collins represented the NMFWRI’s Collaboration Program at the International Association for Society and Natural Resources (IASNR) Conference. He served as moderator for the Advanced Technology session and also delivered a presentation on the New Mexico Collaboration Hub, an online tool created to support collaborative conservation efforts across the state by improving access to information, funding opportunities, and shared resources.
Alejandro’s presentation focused on the Hub’s development, its current applications, and its potential to address common challenges faced by place-based groups such as project planning, cross-agency coordination, and communication during wildfire events. While at the conference, he also connected with practitioners from across the United States and internationally, exchanging ideas and receiving thoughtful input on the Hub’s design and content. This feedback will help guide future improvements and ensure the site continues to serve as a valuable tool for collaborative conservation in New Mexico.
