Wildfire Resiliency

Communities around New Mexico are grappling with larger, more destructive wildfires. NMFWRI added new programs in 2022 to help residents learn methods to prepare for and mitigate wildfire damage, restore burned lands, and connect to resources. Landowner workshops are offered as part of the Querencia in Action program. The Camino a la Resiliency program helps coordinate community events and public meetings to provide information and build relationships. Community Action Days include projects with partners and landowners to reduce fire risks such as chipper days.
