More than 300 students, teachers, and community members took part in the 2nd annual Seed to Tree, Mountain to River Earth Day event at Melody Park on April 24. Among many activities, they pumped water from a firefighter backpack bladder, got sandy building a watershed, learned about fire’s benefits, visited fish from the Mora Hatchery, and explored ancient artifacts. The event was coordinated and sponsored by NMFWRI and the Highlands University Forestry Department.
