Drone Literature Review 2025 GRGWA

Drone Literature Review 2025 GRGWA

The main objective of this review is to identify potential areas for unmanned aerial system (UAS), or drone, use in data collection and site characterization for Bosque ecological monitoring in the Greater Rio Grande watershed in New Mexico. This overview is meant to assist staff in assessing appropriate applications of drones in monitoring projects. A google scholar search for relevant articles was done using key words – i.e. drone, canopy, wetland, and aerial. A total of 33 articles were read.

Impacts of Riparian Restoration on Wildlife

Impacts of Riparian Restoration on Wildlife

It remains unclear how wildlife communities are responding to invasive plant encroachment. In this review author Kyle Shaney addresses the following two questions: 1) When native vegetation is displaced by non-natives, how do native wildlife species adapt? 2) When managers remove non-native plants from riparian corridors during restoration efforts, how will wildlife be affected? The scope of this review is focused specifically on the top invasive riparian tree species in the southwest US, with special attention to New Mexico, although the review was expanded to incorporate relevant examples from throughout the US and the world where necessary.
