FIRENM is Fire Informed Restoration Education for New Mexico. FIRENM aims to increase access to fire-adapted restoration knowledge, practices and experiences to promote resiliency in firesheds across New Mexico. Many local communities exist in a pre-, during- and post-fire continuum. This project focuses on community-engaged trainings and restoration practices and implementation.
FIRENM includes land restoration workshops under the Querencia in Action: Living with Fire program and Land Restoration guides.
Querencia in Action: Living with Fire provide workshops and trainings at fire-impacted working lands across the Hermits Peak/Calf Canyon burn scar.
Some of our workshops include:
Bark Beetle Management Workshop
Structural Ignition Workshop
Native Seed ID and Collection
Contour Log Erosion Control Workshop
Erosion Control with Burned Trees Workshop
Post-fire Tree Thinning Workshop
