Education and Outreach

The mission of the Education & Outreach program is to provide a diverse education in forestry, ecology, and fire management across New Mexico through engagement with land managers (Federal, Tribal, State, and local), K-12 youth, and the general public. NMFWRI works to facilitate the transfer of knowledge through community and stakeholder engagement, development of technical trainings and educational material, and inter-agency support. The Education and Outreach program works closely with the Conservation Science Center to implement STEM and STEAMM activities for K-12 youth through hands-on, immersive programming – in the classroom and outdoors – in forestry, fire ecology, watershed health, and wildlife habitat.
